Newton Exchange Adds Limit Order Feature

The long awaited limit order feature has finally arrived to Newton on iOS! Newton is one of our favourite Canadian exchanges to buy and sell cryptocurrencies. Newton offers a smooth user experience on their platform, competitive spreads with no commissions trades, free funding and withdrawal for fiat and even covers up to $5 transactions fees for cryptocurrency withdrawals.

On version 2.10 for Newton iOS that was released February 1st, 2022, Newton has finally added the limit order trade feature!

Although Newton is highly ranked in our cryptocurrency exchange reviews, one of our main complaints was the lack of advanced trades such as limit orders. We are thrilled to see Newton has listened to its users and finally added this long awaited feature.

What is a Limit Order?

Unlike a regular market order where you simply purchase or sell a cryptocurrency at the current or "market" price, limit orders provide you with more advanced options by setting a limit on the price you are willing to buy or sell.

Why Should I Care About Limit Orders?

Limit orders offer investor more control over their investing options. Here are our reasons you should care and why limit orders should be standard on all exchanges:

• Structured Investing: Allows you to set an entry and exit target to fit your investing strategy.
• Automated: With a buy or sell order in place, you do not need to constantly watch the cryptocurrency prices, orders will fill when your limit is reached.
• Guaranteed Price: During times of high volatility, market prices move quickly. Limit orders guarantees you get the limit price or better.

How to Place a Limit Order on Newton?

Trading with a limit order on Newton is very simple. Follow these steps below to get started:

1. In the Newton app, click on the cryptocurrency you wish to place a limit order either in your portfolio or market tab.
2. Click the trade button on the bottom right corner.
3. Change the order type to limit order
4. Choose either buy or sell and input the price you wish to buy or sell and the quantity.
5. Review and swipe to confirm your order.

It's that simple! Your order will remain open until filled or cancelled. You can review or cancel your limit orders on the "open orders" tab on the underlying cryptocurrency view.
